NAT’s patented decompression sensing technology has been selected for use in the Flight Deck Door Assembly for the Airbus A380. The NAT system consists of a Decompression Sensing Door Controller (DSDC) and Electronic Entry Keypad. The NAT system is then integrated into the Adams Right Aerospace (ARA) Door Latching System and ultimately installed into the Flight Deck Bulkhead and Door Assembly.
NAT’s decompression sensing technology allows for rapid detection and response to a decompression event, and is an integral part of ensuring that the planned intrusion and ballistic resistant flight deck door meets all of the current FAR and JAR decompression requirements.
NAT supplies its Decompression Sensing System/Door Controller and Electronic Entry Keypad for all new and retrofit Airbus cockpit doors. Retrofit installations were completed in 2002 and production installations continue on Airbus A300, A310, A318, A319, A320, A321, A330, A340, and now A380 aircraft.
Additionally, NAT’s technology is in use on Boeing 747, 767 and 777 model aircraft.
