Program Manager | Project Engineer - Electrical | Interior/Structures Engineer - Level 2 | Interior/Structures/Systems Engineer – Level 1 | Tech Pubs Writer and Illustrator |
It’s not easy to get a job at NAT.
We look for people who are individually talented, knowledgeable and capable but who are also passionate about our team success and providing our customers with the best service in the industry.
We treat our people well and expect them to keep us ahead of the competition. That does not mean that we routinely work 16 hour days. But it does mean that when we make a commitment to our team mates and our customers we do whatever it takes to meet that commitment. NAT’s reputation for quality, timeliness and fairness is built on the every-day actions of our people.
We operate with a minimum of bureaucracy and overhead costs. NAT is lean, nimble and efficient. We adapt quickly to our customers’ changing requirements.
You will not get lost in anonymity at NAT. Every person is important. Our people typically take on much broader roles and responsibilities than they could at larger companies.
Despite the challenges faced by the aviation industry NAT is continuing our steady expansion. As a result we have several immediate openings.
Engineering Openings
Project Engineer - Electrical
The project engineer is the “Chief Engineer” and technical leader of our projects. The Project Engineer leads a multi-disciplinary technical team to design, develop, qualify and substantiate an aircraft modification. Our projects typically involve major cabin modifications, such as a cabin upgrade with new seats/suites, galleys and IFE on a customer’s fleet of Boeing or Airbus aircraft. The Project Engineer is responsible for leading the technical team to deliver appropriate quality engineering on time and within budget.
The Project Engineer is responsible for technical communication and coordination with the airline customer and their suppliers and will lead the technical discussion at ITCM, PDR, CDR etc. The Project Engineer will often develop the Statement of Work, create, review and approve Drawings, Engineering Orders, Substantiation Documents and Aircraft Manuals, assign and monitor engineering work packages and coordinate technical issues with the customer, Program Manager and executive staff. This is a “hands-on” engineering and engineering leadership role. It is not a program management or administration role.
Successful Project Engineers have broad technical knowledge and are typically well organized and skilled at creating, delegating, monitoring and managing technical work packages, and leading a team to identify and overcome technical roadblocks. They communicate clearly and effectively with multiple levels at multiple companies and can operate effectively in a leadership role in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
This role requires travel of up to 20% to support customer meetings and aircraft installations at both domestic and international locations.
The Project Engineer role is demanding, deeply satisfying and rewarding.
Qualifications:
At least eight (8) years of aerospace electrical experience including three (3) years in an engineering leadership role. A related engineering degree is preferred although exceptional candidates with additional industry experience may also be considered.

Interior/Structures Engineer – Level 2
NAT performs modifications on essentially all Boeing and Airbus aircraft types currently flying.
We are seeking experienced interiors and structures engineers with broad knowledge of Boeing and Airbus cabin interiors (sidewalls, bins, floors, monuments) and fuselage (secondary and monocoque) structure. Knowledge of cabin systems (ECS, water, waste etc) and cabin layout requirements (LOPAs, Interior Compliance) would also be highly regarded.
The successful candidate will likely have worked in the aerospace retrofit industry in the past and will have a detailed understanding of the Boeing and/or Airbus LOPAs, drawing system and technical publication manuals (AMM, IPC, SRM, D6 Documents and Frame Specifications).
The NAT Interiors/Structures Engineer develops, creates and checks detail, assembly and installation drawings, engineering orders and substantiation documents. Additional roles and responsibilities will include coordinating with Operations and Manufacturing personnel as part of a Design Build Team and dispositioning discrepancies (rejection tags, production action requests, on-site pickups etc).
The Interiors/Structures Engineer reports to the Project Engineer and is responsible for ensuring that the work packages are completely accurately, on-time and within budget.
This role requires a willingness to travel up to 20% of the time to support installations at both domestic and international locations.
Qualifications:
At least five (5) years of aerospace experience in interiors or structures design. A related engineering degree is preferred although candidates with exceptional experience may also be considered. AutoCAD experience is preferable although applicants who are experienced in other CAD packages will also be considered.
Submit resume to HR@NAT.aero No phone calls.
Interior/Structures/Systems Engineer – Level 1
NAT performs modifications on essentially all active Boeing and Airbus commercial aircraft types.
We are seeking engineers with 2 – 5 years experience in aircraft Interiors, Structures and/or Systems design and analysis. Knowledge of Boeing and Airbus cabin interiors (sidewalls, bins, floors, monuments) and fuselage (secondary and monocoque) structure and cabin systems (ECS, decompression, water, waste etc) and cabin layout requirements (LOPAs, Interior Compliance) would be highly regarded.
The successful candidate will likely have worked in the aerospace retrofit industry in the past and will have a detailed understanding of the Boeing and/or Airbus LOPAs, drawing system and technical publication manuals (AMM, IPC, SRM, D6 Documents and Frame Specifications).
This role includes both the design and analysis of aircraft components and systems. The successful candidate will create and check detail, assembly and installation designs/drawings, engineering orders and substantiation documents (weight and balance reports, decompression analysis, certification reports etc). Additional roles and responsibilities will include coordinating with Operations and Manufacturing personnel as part of a Design Build Team and dispositioning discrepancies (rejection tags, production action requests, on-site pickups etc).
This role reports to the Project Engineer and is responsible for ensuring that the work packages are completed accurately, on-time and within budget.
This role requires a willingness to travel up to 20% of the time to support installations at both domestic and international locations.
Qualifications:
Two to five years of experience in aircraft design and/or analysis. A related engineering degree is preferred although candidates with exceptional experience may also be considered. AutoCAD and Inventor experience is preferable although applicants who are experienced in other CAD packages will also be considered.

Tech Pubs Writer and Illustrator
The airlines rely on our revisions and supplements of the aircraft and component manuals for the on-going maintenance and support of their aircraft. Accurate and complete revisions and supplements to the aircraft manuals are a key deliverable to our airline customers. The Tech Pubs Writer and Illustrator use the released engineering documents and drawings to prepare and check revisions and supplements to the aircraft manuals in accordance with customer and regulatory content and format requirements.
The successful applicant will have a demonstrated history of producing accurate and complete technical publications for commercial aircraft. Technical publications are typically produced under intense time pressure toward the end of a modification project. The ability to work accurately and quickly when under pressure is important as is the ability to produce multiple different types of manuals – AMM, IPC, WDM, etc.
Qualifications:
At least three (3) years of aerospace experience in the preparation of aircraft technical publications.
